Join CRIPSiE for our first activity of the season!
Isis Maria will share her experience with relatability and how to capture and hold readers’ attention. She will highlight the following topics to build your writing: connection, relatability, and attention. You will learn how to recognize, understand, and explore stories and the importance of personal stories in being an author/storyteller, while identifying the point of your writing and other story-building features.
At age 7, Isis Maria Henriquez (she/her) rode with her family from Edmonton, Alberta, to San Salvador, El Salvador. The journey marked the beginning of her life as an educator, traveller, and storyteller. Her first novel, Mangos and Snowflakes, tells the silenced stories of victims of the Salvadoran civil war and explores multigenerational connections. She has experience working with artists with disabilities.
