The Hive/The Swarm

The Hive, the Swarm (working title) Workshop Series and performance piece creation is a community-based, multi-disciplinary performance piece exploring inclusivity, individuality and the collective. It will use basic dance-theatre choreography, choral vocal notes, written and spoken text, captioning, ASL, audio description to explore the big ideas of democracy, belonging in society and authoritarianism.

Workshops will experiment with integrated access. Each workshop will build upon the other in a branching way - if you can only attend 1, you will still learn and dance! For those that want to continue, we will create a short, 5-7min performance structure (known as a score) that will be refined, rehearsed and performed within the Orchesis dance series in Motif Moves 2026! No experience needed!
